Six people have been killed by a truck driver who mowed them down on a bike path in lower Manhattan on Tuesday before getting out of his car screaming ‘allahu akbar.’

The driver made his way from Houston Street down towards Tribeca where he mounted the bike path on the West Side Highway shortly after 3pm a few blocks north of Chambers Street.


Swastika at Glen Park BART station seen as part of string of vandalism

A swastika drawn at the Glen Park BART station Friday morning is the latest in a series of vandalism incidents on BART property, officials said.

BART police are searching for a serial vandal suspected of drawing several swastikas and writing ethnic slurs on BART property over the past week. The first incident was reported Oct. 20, BART spokesman Chris Filippi said.

A Government strategy named Operation Constrain could also see extremists jump the queue for council houses, according to the Mail on Sunday.

The newspaper said it has seen official documents which show up to 20,000 fanatics, previously investigated by the security services, will be targeted to persuade them to reject violence.


Anti-Semitic stickers of Anne Frank appear in German soccer

BERLIN (AP) — Anti-Semitic stickers of Holocaust victim Anne Frank have surfaced at some soccer events in Germany after they first triggered a scandal in Italy.

The German news agency dpa reported Tuesday that stickers with the image of the Jewish girl wearing a jersey of a Leipzig team were found in the eastern German city and others were found in the western city of Duesseldorf.
